changing your life for the better?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then hiring me as your coach may be the perfect solution for you! I offer personal virtual coaching by telephone in the following areas:
- Adult ADD and / or Chronic Disorganization (CD) Coaching - I help you reduce the impact of ADD on your life, re-build your self-esteem and self-confidence, and learn to appreciate your strengths as we develop effective strategies to overcome or compensate for your weaker areas.
- Decluttering and Simplifying - I work with people with mild to severe cluttering tendencies to release traumatic attachments to things that are interfering with your quality of life. I do not encourage ANYONE to release things under duress or in pain. Instead, I work with you on the cognitive beliefs and reasoning that affects your feelings about your things to empower to distinguish what is truly most important to you and peacefully things that are not contributing to your quality of life.
- Organizing your home, office, paperwork and finances - It is amazing how much organizing can be accomplished over the phone using photos and a web cam (if you have one) and, if you are physically able to do the work yourself. If you set up a free Skype account, I can use my webcam if needed to demonstrate certain organizing concepts and techniques. If you are not physically able to do the work, I will help you develop the plan and then find the right assistants or professional organizers to work with you in your home to implement the plan.
- Time Management - Does it make you crazy when people tell you to just "schedule your time" as if it were as easy as just writing it down in your calendar? I totally get the difficulty many people have with prioritizing and making decisions about how to use their time. It can be incredibly stressful for creative people to even hear the word "schedule."
I work with people to design, creative, simple, flexible strategies for making sure important things get done without having to "schedule" your whole life. - Life skills - As needed I help you build life skills such as setting boundaries using open, honest, yet non-threatening communication, resolving conflicts and reaching win-win agreements, building trust, making decisions, listening effectively, and re-building your self-confindence.

Ariane is not only interested in getting you organized, but in making sure that she leaves you with a system that helps you to stay organized. With her help, I'm more productive than I've been in years!"

How is coaching different from therapy?
Coaching is different from therapy because it assumes you are ready and able to take action to improve your life once you have the skills and mindset needed. It does not "treat" mental illness or emotional disorders. If you are seriously depressed, are bipolar, or have ADD, OCD, out-of-control addictions or other conditions for which you are currently seeking therapy, you should continue your treatments. Coaching can be a wonderful adjunct to your therapy by helping you learn specific organizing skills and strategies that increase your ability to achieve your therapeutic goals.
I am not a therapist and I won't delve into your past to analyze and explore all the whys and sources of your problems. I stay focused more on WHAT you want, and HOW to get it.
A professional therapist's job is to remain detached in order to effectively identify and treat deeper emotional issues that may even require medication to treat your problem.
As your coach, I won't be as completely objective and detached. Our relationship will be more like that you might have with a nutritionist or a personal trainer. I will celebrate your successes with you, share skills and knowledge, help you brainstorm solutions, and overcome challenges that get in your way. I will be your champion and partner - seeking to understand where you are, where you want to be, and help you bridge the gap to get there by encouraging and enabling you to take action on your goals!

Coaching Success Story - S
I had the honor of coaching a lovely client that I'll call S. After forty years of feeling like a failure at organizing her home and living with clutter that was draining her energy and sucking the life out of her, she called me for help. At first she felt like she was being "too self-indulgent" and that she "shouldn't need help", but she also knew she wasn't getting results on her own. She was so ready to change, and so motivated that she took the chance - and it paid off for her!
She had a very special event planned which involved having several guests stay in her home for a weekend. That event was just 5 weeks away and she was determined to have her entire house in order in just 5 weeks!
This would be a challenging task for anyone! We developed a room by room plan together and she hired a local handyman to help her with the "brawn" of implementing the plan. As she encountered procrastination and other internal obstacles to accomplishing the plan, we tackled the internal beliefs and "stories" that just weren't serving her and came up with strategies that worked to get her motivated to take action and get the job done. She experienced some intensely powerful breakthroughs.
She overcame her fears, released "negative stories" an rebuilt a new image of herself as a person who CAN get things done. Someone who CAN be organized and CAN let go of clutter. She LOVES letting go of clutter now! It's a feeling of power and mastery she hadn't known before.
She let go of truckloads of clutter. As a side affect, she received 2 job offers within one week after clearing her clutter - and she had not even been looking! You don't have to believe it...it just happens. When you clear clutter and take charge, you make room for great new possibilities in your life!
ASKING FOR HELP DOESN'T MAKE YOU WEAK!
It makes you HUMAN. We all need support to overcome things that are difficult for us to do alone. Asking for what you need is self-respect and self-love in action.
Changing a lifetime of habits and patterns that aren't working for you is NOT a simple endeavor! Getting the support you need is no more self-indulgent or weak than going to a doctor when you don't feel well, hiring a personal trainer to help you improve your health, or getting a music teacher to help you learn to play a musical instrument.

Dear Ariane,
After getting off the phone, I was so charged up and clear, I not only finished organizing my bathroom, I got started on the living room too! I can't wait to send you my pictures so you can see what I did!
You truly honored me and my process... Working with you very much feels like a transformational process.
I'm still a little in shock when I look around my home and see it so neat and organized, and yet at another level it feels quite natural. ...Talk with you Wednesday and thank you again for what you do and who you are.

Coaching Success Story - N (ADD, Financial, Paperwork)
"N" is was a widow in her 50s who was diagnosed with Adult ADD in her late forties. When her husband died 7 years prior to my working with her, she was faced with having to run her home and pay bills for the first time in her life. She was so overwhelmed by the situation that she began stuffing papers, including bills, in drawers and bags and boxes all over the place.
She had received a million dollar insurance benefit, but had no idea how to manage it. Even with all that money in the bank, she had collection agencies hounding her and had ruined her credit rating. She was spending about 8 times what she was making - but did not know it.
She had almost a phobia of filing systems. We sorted sort through all the paper and created a super simple filing system that she actually loves now because she can find everything she needs. Getting her papers organized made it possible for us to work on the much bigger issues. I coached her through settling collection accounts, getting unfiled tax returns completed, and finally getting a handle on where her money was going. She was shocked to learn that most of her money was gone.
I helped her consolidate and simplify financial accounts, eliminate service charges and late fees, and get a $2,500 dollar property tax rebate that she almost threw away.
We organized a bill paying routine using online bill-pay, reduced her expenses and even helped her redesign her social life to include activities that didn't require spending so much money.
Organizing her paper and financial situation avoided her losing her home, and bought her another year. We are now working on an ADD friendly career to enable her to replace the income she lost when her husband died.

When I met you I had never paid a bill except at the supermarket. My husband handled everything and I was not privy to his finances.
When he died, I sold my home and moved to New Jersey. I was overwhemed with boxes of paper, and had no clue where to start.I looked on the Internet and found you. At first I was afraid - apprehensive - but over the past 6 months, you have completely transformed my life. I can't think of what my life would be like if I had't found you. You helped me not be a victim of my ADD, pay my bills on time and so much more.
You've given me back my LIFE! I feel like I can relax and the future will be okay. I no longer have that constant impending sense of doom. You are teaching me how to deal with all the basics of life that no one ever taught me. As you keep telling me, how was I supposed to know how to do this if I never had to do it?
How do you thank someone for helping you feel like it's never to late to make your life better? I'm just so glad you are in my life.
